A new year in 2009....

During these uncertain times in the economy with job loss and investments all but gone we have a lot to be grateful for. We count ourselves among the lucky ones that do have a stable income and a place to live. There is a lot a unknowns in the world today, but one thing we know is our love for each other is strong as is our love for our God. I watch others who seem lost in this world, without direction or purpose, just wandering down life's pathway with no real goal to look forward to. As the world brings us news of corruption, mayhem, strife, and war we look forward to the bright days of the future.
We count our blessings of family and friends that are around us every day. Never taking for granted those friendships and relationships we hold dear to our hearts. We are truly blessed and although we might not be wealthy according to the standards of the world, we feel very richer than most with our knowledge of our Father in Heaven and His love for us and all His children.
When life gets to be to hard to stand, kneel.

Smiles

Christmas 2008 Family Party

It was good to be around family on Christmas. Here are a few pictures from that wonderful time together......

Christmas 2008

Christmas 2008 was good to us. We had a good snow storm the night before and the night of giving us a White Christmas, which is something everyone enjoyed including Dixie our dog. As you can see from the pictures we had some good sized snow flakes falling for a while too. It wasn't too much that it was dangerous to travel but enough for snowball fights and snowman building. Dixie sure loves the snow and playing in it with the boys. Gavin loves the snow because it means $ in his pocket from snow shoveling jobs he has in the neighborhood. I bought all the boys new snow shovels, which they picked out and tried out before getting them, and they love to use them. Gavin and Brody have already attempted to make a miniature skating rink by blocking up melting snow in the gutter in front of the house.
Christmas day treated us good.

The boys all got one big gift from "Santa" and the rest of the gifts came from mom and dad. Gavin got a new cell phone, the Dare. Brody got a DS Lite, Mario Edition w/ game. Tyson got an MP3 player and Crayola's Color Explosion which we all have had fun using, thanks Tyson. Mom got concert tickets to see Neil Diamond with her mother and they really enjoyed it. We really tried to emphasize the "TRUE" meaning of Christmas with our family this year and hoped we did some good with our intents.
